Torah Bright: Kennecott Copper Mine

Kennecott Copper Mine Since I've been on lock down in the US without my green card, Jake and I have been getting a little creative with things to do locally. Last week, we went to the Kennecott Copper mine in Copperton, UT in the western foothills of the Salt Lake Valley. It's a massive structure that produces enough minerals in 41 days to make all the pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters in a year. We checked out the whole structure and all the machinery that goes into making this a smooth operation and their environmental stewardship program that runs the cleanest smelting process in the world. I totally loved it and had a blast with all the trucks and the enormity of it all. Fun fact, the mine is the only other man made site visible from space next to the Great Wall of China. on our way up to the mine!! Look how big the truck wheels are! Definitely worth the trip! Cheers, Torah
